Affirming a New Elder at Antioch

Feb 8, 2021 | by Antioch Community Church

We have the opportunity to welcome a new member to our Antioch Elder Team at Antioch Community Church! James Christenson will be presented to the membership of Antioch for a vote of affirmation at our Annual Celebration on Sunday, February 28th. (More information regarding in-person and online voting for those who are covenant members to come!)

A note from James:

I grew up around the Twin Cities and graduated from Bethel University in 2012. Genna and I married the same summer, and we have been attending Antioch ever since. During our time here, I have served as a community group leader, prayer team leader, and a member of the set up and tear down team at the Ukrainian Event Center. I’ve been a professor of chemistry at Bethel University since 2018, and I enjoy teaching many future medical professionals. Genna and I have two energetic girls, Callie (almost 3) and Hope (1). A primary reason I desire to be an elder is to further shepherd Antioch in the area of prayer and dependence on God. I view eldership as an opportunity for greater service, as well as an opportunity for me to grow in my own spiritual life.

Biblical qualifications for Elders are listed below. Please prayerfully review these qualifications and contact the Elder Team at elders@antiochcommunity.org with any questions or concerns regarding James. We are confident in God’s call upon his life for leadership and are excited to see how God continues to lead for his glory!
